MANTA

Manta is a coastal city located in the province of Manabí in Ecuador. It is situated on the Pacific Ocean and is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant fishing industry.
Located in the western part of Ecuador, along the central coast. It is approximately 200 kilometers (124 miles) southwest of the capital city, Quito.
It has a warm and tropical climate with relatively consistent temperatures throughout the year, with average highs ranging from 25°C to 31°C (77°F to 88°F) and average lows ranging from 20°C to 24°C (68°F to 75°F). The temperature variation between seasons is minimal.
Manta enjoys a good amount of sunshine all year round. On average, the city receives approximately 7 to 8 hours of sunshine per day. The sunniest months tend to be from August to November. The sun sets to the west.
The Pacific Ocean off the coast of Manta generally maintains warm temperatures ranging from 24°C to 29°C (75°F to 84°F). The ocean is suitable for swimming and water activities.

The Ecuadorian Coast has no threats of hurricanes or tornadoes.
Manta is served by the Eloy Alfaro International Airport, which offers domestic and international flights.
Manta’s economy is primarily driven by its fishing and seafood industry. It has one of the largest fishing ports in Ecuador, and the city is known for its tuna exports. Additionally, Manta has a growing industrial sector, manufacturing plants, and a free trade zone.

Several stunning beaches attract both locals and tourists. Some of the popular beaches in and around Manta include El Murciélago, Tarqui, Barbasquillo, Santa Marianita, and San Lorenzo. These beaches offer opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, water sports, and relaxation. Manta is a hub for water sports enthusiasts. Surfing, kiteboarding, windsurfing, and sport fishing are popular activities in the area. Santa Marianita Beach, located a few kilometers from Manta, is particularly famous for its excellent conditions for kitesurfing.
Manta is a walkable town, most important places are within a walking distance. You can find almost everything you need in Manta. Fresh produce, organic fruit and vegetables can be found everywhere at a low cost. Some imported goods are more expensive and depend on where you buy at, the market, a local store or the shopping mall.
It has two big shopping malls; Mall del Pacifico and Paseo Shopping. Both offer a wide variety of stores, cinemas, super stores and supermarkets.

This city has a range of restaurants, cafes, and seafood markets where you can explore even more culinary delights. From casual seafood shacks on the beach to upscale seafood restaurants, you’ll find options to suit various tastes and budgets.
Manta has been making efforts to develop its tourism industry, capitalizing on its natural beauty and cultural heritage. Besides the beaches, visitors can explore attractions such as the Central Bank Museum, the Eloy Alfaro Museum, and the Manta Archaeological Museum, which showcases artifacts from the ancient Manteño civilization.

Located near Manta, Montecristi is a small town known for its traditional handicrafts, especially Panama hats. These iconic straw hats are woven by local artisans and exported worldwide. Montecristi has also a Golf Course and Golf Club.
